Tyler Sanford
Pop music by Tyler Sanford(Tyler Sanford - Guitar/Vocals) from Cape Cod (N/A) since 04/14/2004. Currently signed with unsigned.
"The music industry isn't just gonna come knockin' on your door."
I remember my mother telling me these exact words during one of our heartfelt, intriguing conversations. We were discussing my progress as a musician, specifically from when I began recording music in the year 2004. I know that I have something to offer the world musically. However, I wasn't sure if these are the kinds of songs today's music industry is looking for. It's encouragement from family members and close friends that have answered that question overtime.
What makes my quest for glory difficult is not only the competition, but the unfortunate situation of having no relatives in the industry before me. When I do make my break through, I will be the first of my blood to do so. I'm not going to say 'if', because my confidence stands beyond that.
What makes me different from the countless others attempting to make names for themselves? For one, I don't strive to be the "hit machine". I'm also not the one to record an album for the sake of impressing today's consumers. I write what I like to write, and if it makes an impression, then I've done more than what was attempted.
To compare me to any artist is inaccurate, because I don't sound like any artist out there. Sure, I've received countless Neil Young references. I can't tell you how many times I've been mistaken for Don Dokken when "Stop Fighting Love" plays on my cell phone. Of course, these are fans of 'modern' music that makes these frequent mistakes. I guess you could classify my music as Lyrical Pop, that is Pop music with stories behind it.
I would consider myself more of a songwriter than a performer, given that I haven't toured much during my time of releasing albums. Though, I do have experience in performing, and hope to do so more often in the future.
