Amanda Palmer, Mike Patton, at THE summer festival in January
Sydney Festival 2014, Article by Siim Einfeldt
Many of you might remember the news from July when UK's tabloid Daily Mail covered Amanda Palmer's set at Glastonbury Festival where they covered anything but the performance itself. In response, Amanda Palmer wrote an open letter to Daily Mail which she performed at The Roundhouse in London titled Dear Daily Mail. If you're not yet familiar about it, be sure to search for the video from Youtube. But this terrific lady together with Mike Patton, the lead singer of the alternative metal band Faith No More, and hundreds of others, will be taking a stage during Sydney Festival 2014 that takes place across the down under city from January 9th to January 27th.
All together the festival will be offering 372 performances by 722 artists from 80 companies. All together the festival offers 104 events of which a total of 21 are without a ticket.
In addition to excellent musical performances, the festival will also be offering exceptional dance, theatre, visual arts, film and much more.
"If you are really into your arts, Sydney Festival will not disappoint, with opera, dance, theatre and music acts from across Australia and the world." says Festival Director, Lieven Bertels.
