Indie music by The Methods from United States since 2002. Currently without a record label.
Thaoism, Chicago-based, met Kozmik, Houston-based, at a concert in 2001. It was Thaoism's band's last performance before he made the move to Houston with the idea of forming a new band with Kozmik.
During the band's infancy, Thaoism started writing songs and recording tracks with Kozmik specifically for the then unnamed "The Methods.'" After a year of recording, the duo set off to find their bassist and lead vocalist. After weeks of searching, they virtually ran into Marcus, who originally responded to an internet posting as a bassist. The irony was that they quickly discovered Marcus' voice to be the exact fit for The Methods' sound.
The ambient-rock band approaches universal topics of heartache, loneliness, hope and love in soft, watery way. There's feelings of light meeting dark, fast meeting slow. The music tip-toes to the listener in a thoughtful, respectful way, weaving in lyrics that come only from one who has lived them. Lines from the song "Contentment" remind the listener of those beautiful, peaceful times that are hard to dig deep and remember when life hands a rough patch:
"Content in this moment, of time / I'm right where you want me to be / Why can't I remember, this? / and be content on the darker days"
Songs created to be immersed and basked within, echoing hope in every facet of our lives...
